Wonder-woman

When she walked into the room, it seemed like something happened: heads turned around, men smiled and women probably wondered. She walked in her high heels and very formal business-like attire as if she was going for a very formal meeting with a minster or someone like that. While all of us were dressed in black t-shirt and jeans, or say regular clothes, she was all decked up, not to forget the makeup part. She certainly seemed special, someone who was out of the world in that room. A Goddess of some sort of some beauty queen.

So while we were trying to learn something on climate change and the environment, we found that she was also there to learn the same. It might have been some sort of preparation for her since she is going to represent our tiny country in some Earthy event.

Ok, so the first day, she came and tried to impress all. Guys were busy taking pictures with her, and she gave some speech on what she is doing and what she would like to do, which we did noticed in the days that followed.

The second day, she came in a jaw-dropping way. Her little, black dress made her visually striking, and not to forget those fishnet stockings! And while we learned about the Earth, the environment, forest fires, glaciers and everything else, her fingers and eyes were glued to the mobile device. Kept thinking what might she be doing on her phone and if she was a very busy person–appointments and all, you know–that she had stick herself to her phone. Then we realized something. She must be “communifaking.”

Well, to explain communifaking, it’s when people fake actual communication and pretend just that they’re communicating. So yes, we thought she was communifaking and that could be the reason why she was such in love with her device. But call it unfortunate/fortunate on our part or making an unnoticed exit on hers, she didn’t make herself visible the entire day.  While we would be there from 9 am until 5 pm, the pretty woman came, sat, smiled and disappeared.

The following days continued, and that might have been quite an adventure for her. All that learning and oh yes, that great fall of the day. Maybe she was overloaded with all the information that her mind gave up, thus showing her the wrong directions. Her eyes didn’t follow her feet because the brain told them not to, and she tripped and fell. The plate on her hand landed on the ground and her off slipped away from the abode of her palms and along with all that, the beauty landed on the ground. But fortunately, no scratches or anything; she was just fine and pretty. She was saved from any scars or scratched that would have put an ill-effect for the international representation.

One day after another, she showed up in different dresses, looking pretty. But each day, the impression sort of fizzled. Her guest appearances seemed mundane and boring. At the end, her presence or disappearances were unaccounted. She just went unnoticed. Too bad she didn’t get a chance to know us all and be friends, but hope she learned something that would help her in her future endeavors.

But for the first time, on the last day out of six, we saw her scribble something on the notebook and ask a question. Maybe she had saved it for the last day. However, her voice got suppressed amid the roars of a group of people who had been together for six days, all day long and had shared a good bonding.

In the end, she was just a stranger. She came. She came pretty. But she didn’t leave a long-lasting, pretty image. I hope when she represents this small country, she makes a pretty image. She was a wonder women for us as we kept wondering her presence and disappearance. Hope she doesn’t become just a guest appearance in the international league.

Note: This is just humor. The character mentioned here is purely fictional and if it resembles someone/anyone, what can I say? Co-incidence, I suppose.

I heard the clatter from afar and exclaimed, “Blame it on the heels! Blame it on the heels!”

Krita gave me a knowing smile, then.
